On March 16th, the Oklahoma State Board of Education authorized the closure of all Oklahoma schools beginning March 17 until April 6, 2020, to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We understand that these are unusual circumstances and that our normal routines may be disrupted for a period of time. Together, we will work through the challenges of our current situation.
As you are aware the COVID-19 situation is constantly changing. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation with the board of education and state health experts. Therefore, stay actively engaged in the district website and social media as information comes forward.
We are committed to the safety of our students and staff. Metro Technology Centers is doing all we can to ensure our campuses are sanitized during this closure. We have contracted a commercial cleaning service to deep clean classrooms and all of our campuses.
Please know that Metro Tech is working with our accrediting agencies, financial aid governing bodies and program specific guidelines to determine distance learning for each student's completion.
You will receive a phone call from a Metro Technology Centers staff member to identify any needs you may have. They will also be asking about your technology resources at home. This information will help us to better serve you during this time.
We encourage our students and their families to exercise discretion, caution, and compliance during the next several weeks. Please follow all guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and our State Health Authorities. We ask you to be extremely cautious, not only for yourselves and your family but to protect the vulnerable populations who share our community. If you can, please stay at home and enjoy family time. If you must go out, please practice social distancing, allowing at least six feet between you and other individuals.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have issued guidance on approaches facilities may take in screening, limiting and restricting visitors. This advice is effective until further notice or for the duration of the President’s Emergency Declaration.
In the meantime, please know that we are here to help you navigate this difficult time. We will all need to be patient and flexible as the situation is rapidly changing. If you have questions please contact your Site Leaders:
