Daniela Dominguez and Lee Marrs were named Superintendent's Student of the Year during Metro Tech Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday, May 7, at Oklahoma City University Freede Center.
Dominguez - a first-year Metro Tech Pharmacy Aide student and Southeast High School junior - was named High School Student of the Year. She maintains a 3.7 GPA at Southeast, and has participated in numerous leadership activities during her time at Metro Tech. Winning the school's highest student honor this year gave her the confidence and motivation to continue reaching for her goals. She will return to Metro Tech in the fall to continue pursuing her health careers certifications, and plans to become a medical examiner.
Lee Marrs - a retired CEO and Metro Tech Medical Assistant student - was named Adult Student of the Year. Marrs returned to school at the age of 65 to pursue a medical assistant certification in order to volunteer in a medical clinic. He described this honor as, "A very pleasant surprise."
Congratulations to all 10 nominees for Superintendent's Student of the Year!
