We are in unusual times as we navigate through our new “normal” during the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a district, we have worked with the Oklahoma City – County Health Department and the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) in creating and implementing Safe At Work Protocols and Procedures. We desire to inform you that on the evening of July 2nd, we received notification that an individual that has been on campus at Metro Technology Centers has tested positive for COVID-19. Our response team has responded quickly and is currently moving through our established Procedures to ensure we keep our staff, students, and visitors as safe as possible. I am grateful for our team that has prepared us for this event and our established Health & Hygiene Requirements of social distancing, wearing protective face coverings, and creating a staggered schedule for any essential employees that are required to be on campus. We have followed the districts COVID-19 Response plan in order to appropriately communicate and respond to this scenario. Given a scenario with a positive case on campus we want to have all employees use this time to review our Response Procedures as well as our Health and Hygiene Requirements. The individual involved did a wonderful job of protecting themselves and others and we have followed our tracing procedures and contacted team members that needed to be contacted. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact the Chief Officer, Environmental Safety and Regulatory Affairs, Melanie Stinnett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is important in these times to keep safe, clean, and calm.
