For the 32st year in a row Metro Technology Center will host its annual career fair April 15.
The career fair, originally developed specifically for Metro Tech students, is open to the public.
“I’m really excited about this year’s career fair which will include more than 80 employers ready to hire people. It’s an outstanding opportunity for Metro Tech students and local community members looking for a job,” said Mike Shelton, Metro Tech’s Transition Services Coordinator.
This annual event has grown to be one of Oklahoma City’s largest career fairs and a wide variety of jobs will be available. Some of those included will be Administrative Assistant, Aircraft Maintenance, Auto Body & Service, Child Care, Climate & Energy Control, Construction, Cosmetology, Electrical, Engineering, Finance/Banking, Food Service, Graphic & Video Design, Health, Law Enforcement, Medical Office, Welding and many more.
“Career fairs are necessary events with all the competition in today’s hiring market,” said Eran Harrill, President and CEO of the Oklahoma City Black Chamber of Commerce.
“The Metro Tech career fair gives our partnering companies a great advantage. This well-established fair has proven results as an outstanding resource to students and community. I look forward to seeing firsthand talented employees being hired which is a win-win for the companies we represent,” said Harrill.
Employers will do interviews that day. Both full-time and part-time positions will be available.
“Since I started my program I have personally seen businesses ready to hire Metro Tech students. But I’m not really sure where I want to work yet and I think this job fair will give me a better idea of the options I have available,” said Alexcia Armendariz, a student in the Metro Tech Medical Coding Program.
The job fair is free to those looking for a job.
