Requirements

Intermediate refractometry skills are introduced such as retinoscopy, refinement, motility issues affecting refraction, the use of prism and binocular balancing. Advanced Lensometry skills will be practiced. Practice hands-on instruction in clinical lab settings. Students should be prepared for long hours of standing. Included in the 24-hour course is a mandatory four (4) hour Saturday hands-on workshop in addition to the weekday classroom schedule. Failure to attend one of the two Saturday-workshops will result in an incomplete status.
